I made it!

What a day! I flew to Arizona today! Yea!!!!! I don’t have to watch any fishing or any golf for 6 whole days!!!!

It was an exciting trip.

It all started in Minneapolis. At the ticket counter, there was an old man having troubles. Something about wanting to take some screwdrivers on his flight. They had called security to deal with him.

Next to him were 3 guys. 2 white guys and a guy that looked Mexican. I was on the other side of the old man.

Suddenly, I hear the Mexican guy yelling “Don’t touch me!!”

I turn around and one of the white guys is trying to grab his arm. All at once, the Mexican bolted. The white guys starts yelling, “Immigration!” He and the security guard and 3 other guys take the Mexican to the ground. Right at my feet.

All I could think was that I had just got that damn cast off yesterday.

So I jumped over the scales and behind the ticket counter. I was getting the hell out of the way.

They finally got the guy subdued and packed him off. I was scared crapless.

I have never been more happy to get on an airplane in my life.

Cop Talk

I have added a new blog to the listing.

I found Cop Talk via Devin.

Both are fun reads. Athough, I sometimes wonder about Devin's sanity.

Anyway, go take a look.

I think I'm in Love

This is the guy.

Although, I am kind of worried about that "right-wing republican" thing.

Earthquakes and Tornados

Rob has a great post about earthquakes in Georgia.

I have lived with earthquakes for a long time. I use to live in Southern California and in Nevada. Those two places get lots of earthquakes.

The largest quake I was in was a 6.1 in Carson City, NV. It sounded like a freight train coming down the hall of my apartment. Scared the hell out of me.

I experienced an earthquake in Southern Idaho once. (Yes, Idaho has earthquakes, too.) It was a cool, rolling one. You could see the land rolling like a wave as it came across the fields.

I know what to do during an earthquake: Hang on to the door jamb and enjoy the ride.

I don't know what to do during a tornado. I have seen only one. And that was enough.

(I take that back. My parents tell me when I was about 6 months old, I survived a tornado in a VW Bus.)

About 2 years ago, there was a small one that came through our town. It was only and F1, but it was enough. I never want to see another one.

But since I live at the top of Tornado Alley, I will probably see another one.

And tornado season just opened.

Hurray!

No crutches, no cast!!!

Doc says he thinks I just sprained it really bad. He told me it could take up to 6 months to heal completely.

Anyway, Phoenix here I come!!!!

Driving Permit

Did I tell you Buttboy got his driving permit? He should have had it a 2 years ago, but he didn't want to put forth the effort.

I let him drive the other day for the first time. Scared the crap out of me!!!!

I think he will do okay once he gets used to starting and stopping.

He either gives me whiplash or peels out. Nothing in-between.

Bored....

So, since I am stuck watching TV in my son's room, I am also stuck at a computer. Because he is such a slob, there is no where else to sit in this room. And I have a clothespin on my nose.

Anyway, so since I am bored, you guys are getting bombarded with posts.

I know I haven't posted in ages. I was too busy feeling sorry for myself. But since I am feeling better, I can actually type out words for you to read.

So be prepared. Blogging is starting up again.

Bwahahahahah.

Arizona

I can hardly wait to get to Arizona.

My mommy will be there to take care of me. I will have a whole week of pampering. She will cook for me and clean up after me.

And we watch the same shows!

I want to go shopping with her. And I want to sit by the pool and play on my computer and spend time with my brother.

I am getting more excited moment by moment.

Golf

I'm a little irritated at the moment. I have had to watch golf for two fucking days!

I am so sick of it I could scream!

So tonight, I thought, "I'll get to watch something I like."

Ha! Not even. Now we are having to watch some stupid show on Discover Channel. I am so sick of this shit.

The only day I seem to get to watch what I want is on Thursday nights for Survivor. Otherwise, he is LORD OF THE REMOTE. Just ask him.

Husband

Okay, so here's the deal. In October, 1995, I married a guy named William.

He was sweet, hardworking and absolutely gorgeous. Little did I know, that within 8 months, he would be unemployed, paranoid and picking zits off his face from all the drugs.

In January of 1997, I kicked him out of my life. I have not gotten a divorce. Partially because I cannot afford to pay the attorney to find his scrawny ass, and partly because it prevents me from making that mistake again.

So, if anyone is in Golden Valley, AZ, and knows William Hobbs. Tell him to get a divorce. Because I don't wanna pay for it!!!

Am I a Geek?

You are 32% geek
You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

IRAQ NOW ...... We Were Winning When I Left

Jason tells it like it is.

He also .states (quite succinctly) how I feel about why we are fighting this war.

Reincarnation

Do you believe in reincarnation?

I do. Very much so.

I believe I have lived before. And no, I do not believe I was someone famous. And no, I wasn't always human.

I believe I was a horse once.

I believe I died in Vietnam.

I believe I was in the Civil War.

I believe I lived in Europe hundreds of years ago.

I believe I will live again after I die on this go round.

Speaking of Dad

I am headed to Arizona this next week. I am going to spend the week with my family. It will be the first time in 6 years, I have spent my birthday with my parents.

It will also be the first time in 6 years I have seen my sister.

The first time in 7 years that we have all been together in one place.

I am leaving the kids and the s/o at home.

I am very excited. Maybe by the time I get back I can get rid of the crutches.

Oh yeah, did I mention I am still on them? I went to the doctor on Thursday. He said 2 more weeks on the crutches. I ahve to go see an Orthopedic Specialist on Tuesday. (I fly out on Wednesday). Hopefully, there will be no surgery involved.

Anyway, thanks to Eric for the words of encouragement. I am actually kind of enjoying my forced stay at home. I have never been out of work long enough to collect unemployment.

I started working when I was 13. Picking strawberries at a $1 per flat. That sucked.

After that I worked at alocal dress shop. No money, but I earned clothes. That was a fun job.

My first real job was at McDonald's. That really sucked. But I learned a lot.

I have not stopped working since. Even if they were temp jobs.

I will be 37 in a week. That means I have been working for 24 years. And raised 3 kids.

Damn! No wonder I am so tired!

I need this vacation!

Gay Pastor Acquitted

This is good news.

My father was a Methodist minister. And a good one. I grew up listening to his stories of faith and religion.

I also remember the first time I heard of a gay minister.

I was in high school. My parents were discussing the local Episcopal church and how they had removed one of their priests for being gay.

My father was outraged. The man was a great minister. He was kind and considerate and understood people like no one else we knew. I have no idea what happened to him after he was removed from the pulpit. I only know he left town because in the hick town where we lived, no one would leave him alone.

A few years later, when the Methodist church was going through it's own turmoil, my dad once again raised his voice. This time everyone heard it. He spoke out at the regional and national conferences.

I am very proud of my father. He did what was right, insead of what he was told.

Today, the Methodist church is very lenient when it comes to those things. I like to think my dad had something to do with it.
