Stuff

What an exhausting week! We have been running all week getting ready for this wedding. Did I tell you my sister is getting married on Saturday?

She is marrying her high school sweetheart. They had not seen each other in years, but had been in touch via e-mail for a few years. I guess when they saw each other again, it was like they had never been apart.

Did I mention my sister is 44?
~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, lots of other things to talk about.
Since we are watching it as I type, let's talk about the Democratic National Convention.
They had a nice piece narrated by Morgan Freeman introducing Kerry and his family. It was very well done.
I know a lot of bloggers are Republican and Bush supporters, but I am not. I will be voting for Kerry in November.
Why don't I like Bush? Lots of reasons. Religion, abortion, gay marriages, just to name a few.
Why do I like Kerry? Not sure I do. I just know I do not want Bush telling me how to live my life any more.
Family. Lots and lots of family here. The Fiance is getting his fill of relatives this weekend.
Fortunately, he has only met them in 2s and 3s so far. Friday night and Saturday will be the big days. We told him there will be a quiz after the wedding on Saturday. LOL!
~~~~~~~~~~
We will be leaving here on Monday and headed back to Minnesota. I have to wait for my paycheck to be deposited in the bank before I can leave.

Should be able to make it in good time. We won't be stopping as often.

Did I tell you I am back up and running on my computer?

My cousin installed Linux on it. So I am running Mozilla for my browser. It has been very educational using Linux.

Not sure I will keep it. I will probably reinstall Windows when I get home.

Family Reunions

This weekend is our family reunion.

There will be about 200 people here at one point or another. My father came from a family of 8 children. And each of those children had 3-4 children. And each of those kids had 3-4 kids and now some of those are having kids.

So there will be 4 or 5 generations here at one time this weekend.
~~~~~~
My oldest sister is getting married this weekend at the reunion. We always swore she would never marry. But he has found a long lost high school love and they will marry this weekend.
It is a very good thing. He is a gret guy and has always been a close friend of our family.
~~~~~~
Our family reunions are different than any I have ever been to. There is absolutely no alcohol at our gatherings. I know some of the cousins drink, but we do NOT drink as a family. It just isn't done. I will have to wait another week for drinking.
~~~~~~
I will see some people this weekend that I have not seen in over 25 years. It should be very interesting.
~~~~~~
My uncle works at the local state prison. He has told me that he works with one of my old boyfriends. And said boyfriend would like to see me again.

I don't think so.

The man would never take me out in public. He didn't mind taking me places, and even spent quite a bit of money on me, but it was never some place that his friends might see us.

So, I don't think so.
~~~~~~
I am borrowing my cousin's computer. My hard drive totally crashed a few days ago. I lost everything. I hope I can save it when I get home in a couple weeks.
~~~~~~
It is really strange to have have first cousins the same age as my kids.
~~~~~~
It is hot here. Over 100 degrees (fahrenheit) for the last few days. And into the 90's for the next few days.
No wonder I moved away from this area.
~~~~~~
Hope all is well in your world.
