Next Few Days

Blogging will be very light for the next few days.

My parents have arrived and since I only see them once a year, am going to spend as much time as I can with them.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are going to freeze our asses off here in Minnesota.

Never Send A Man to Wal-Mart...

I sent P to Wal-Mart to get water and Comet. Not so hard, right?

He came home with "drinking water". That's okay. I'd rather have the Spring water, but I can deal with it. No big.

But then he pulls out the 409. "Here." he says, "It was on sale."

Now, how in the hell am I supposed to scrub the bathtub with 409???!!!?!?

Why Do I Blog?

Mary has a post up about people wanting her to go away and stop blogging.

In the post, she notes that some people blog for their ego. While a lot more blog for the human interaction.

I guess I blog for the human interaction. I don't really have anyone nearby that I can talk to on a regular basis about stuff that bothers me.

That is why I blog. I really enjoy it and can't imagine not blogging now. I don't blog everyday, but I blog when I need to.

I know people come and read my stuff and that is great because I love hearing differing ideas on things.

I'm glad I have the Internet and my blog. I would be lost without them both.

Finally...Some Good News

My parents are coming to visit!

My parents live in an RV and travel all over. They make a circle of the USA on a continual basis. They travel from Arizona to Oregon to Minnesota to Louisiana and back again.

This will be their 5th year in the RV. And probably their last. My dad is not as healthy as he once was.

But they will be here Friday!! Yea!!

My mom and I are very close. She is an awesome person and I have great respect for her. They will be here a week or so. I am hoping to spend as much time as I can with them. I never know when I will see them again.

Less than 48 hours to go!!

More Bad News...

My brother just called. T's mom died last night. She has been very ill for the past year and was undergoing chemo. We thought she had at least 6 months to a year left.

I guess she just gave up after T died.

She was a great lady and I will miss them both greatly.

Heat

They have already turned the heat on in my office.

I work in a factory that makes restaurant furniture. I don't work on the floor of the factory. I work in order processing. In other words, I work on a computer all day.

During the summer, they have the a/c set very low. We freeze most of the summer. And then in the winter, they turn the heat up and we sweat to death.

I thought we would have a little more time to get use to the weather. But since it is September in Minnesota, they have already turned the heat on.

I had my fan on all day and the lightest shirt I could find. I still sweated my way through the day.

It is getting down to around 35 at night. True, that is fairly cool. But it is still getting up into the 70's during the day.

Why couldn't they have left the temperature gauge alone for a little while longer?

Oh well, guess I won't put the short skirts away yet.

Golf

Everyone in my house is addicted to golf.

Not just any golf - Outlaw Golf. I bought it for my X-Box. (Yes, I have an X-Box. It does not belong to my 16-year-old son. It's MINE!)

We play it constantly now. We don't have the full version yet. We only have the 9 Holes of X-Mas version. But it is a lot of fun. We are saving up for the full version of Outlaw Golf.

P is so typically male. He plays with brute strength. Wants to see how hard he can hit the ball.

I play with a little more finesse. I want to get on the green as quickly as possible, but I don't feel I have to smash the hell out of the ball to do it.

Funny, that is kind of how we play real golf.

Gut Rumbles

Acidman has been talking about the weather today.

In Minnesota, we have 4 seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter and Summer.

Last week, it was summer. This week it is Almost Winter. We had weather in the 90's last week. Now, we can't even break 60. It is starting to get cool in the evenings. Lows around 40.

Should have our first frost within the next couple weeks. Snow by Halloween.

Did I mention how much I love living in Minnesota?

Presidential Nominees

This is the reason I read blogs.

Now, I don't feel like such an idiot.

I'm A Quacker-Backer!

The Oregon Ducks beat Michigan yesterday.

They played in Eugene. When I was there just a few days ago, we had trouble finding a motel room. Everything ws already booked for that entire week leading up to this game.

Everywhere we went, it was all anyone was talking about.

That game was very important to a lot of people.

Go Ducks!!
