Speaking of Dad
I am headed to Arizona this next week. I am going to spend the week with my family. It will be the first time in 6 years, I have spent my birthday with my parents.
It will also be the first time in 6 years I have seen my sister.
The first time in 7 years that we have all been together in one place.
I am leaving the kids and the s/o at home.
I am very excited. Maybe by the time I get back I can get rid of the crutches.
Oh yeah, did I mention I am still on them? I went to the doctor on Thursday. He said 2 more weeks on the crutches. I ahve to go see an Orthopedic Specialist on Tuesday. (I fly out on Wednesday). Hopefully, there will be no surgery involved.
Anyway, thanks to Eric for the words of encouragement. I am actually kind of enjoying my forced stay at home. I have never been out of work long enough to collect unemployment.
I started working when I was 13. Picking strawberries at a $1 per flat. That sucked.
After that I worked at alocal dress shop. No money, but I earned clothes. That was a fun job.
My first real job was at McDonald's. That really sucked. But I learned a lot.
I have not stopped working since. Even if they were temp jobs.
I will be 37 in a week. That means I have been working for 24 years. And raised 3 kids.
Damn! No wonder I am so tired!
I need this vacation!
