O Christmas Tree

When four of Santa's elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not
produce the toys as fast as the regular ones, Santa was beginning to
feel the pressure of being behind schedule.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her Mom was coming to visit. This
stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were
about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven
knows where. More stress.

Then when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards cracked, and
the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys.

So, frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of apple cider and
a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered that the
elves had hidden the liquor, and there was nothing to drink. In his
frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider pot, and it broke into
hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor.

He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw end
of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritable Santa trudged to the door.
He opened the door, and there was a little angel with a great big
Christmas tree. The angel said, very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas,
Santa. Isn't it a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where
would you like me to stick it?"

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Okay, that is all, folks.

Penny's Van

Okay, you guys see that van over on the right side of the screen?
That is for my friend Penny.

I talk about Penny a lot. She has the energy of 50 people, I think.

Penny is driving a van that is slowly falling apart. It is not
handicap accessible. The radiator is leaking. The engine is ready to
blow.

It is just not a good thing.

She has a darling little boy named Austin who turned 7 just recently.
Austin has cerebral palsy and is blind. He will spend the rest of his
life in a wheelchair.

At this time, Penny is having to lift Austin into a car seat. And
then she uses a piece of plywood to roll the wheelchair into the van.

This isn't a major problem for now. Austin is still only about 45
pounds and she is still able to lift him without assistance. But she
will not be able to do that for much longer.

Austin also has to make regular trips to the doctor. His doctors are
in Fargo and Minneapolis. Since Penny does not have a reliable
vehicle, she stresses every time she has to make the voyage to see the
doctor.

Everyone talks about this being the time for giving. Well, I would
like all of you to think about giving something for Penny's van.

If you want to reach Penny directly, you can click on her name and it
will take you to her blog. She doesn't update a lot, but she still
gets all the comments you leave.

Please help me raise enough money for at least a good down payment.

Thank you!

Stuff & Nonsense

I do not want to be here today.

Bleh.

I almost went back to sleep this morning after taking the kids to
school instead of getting up and coming to work.

Damn.

I really don't want to be here. I am PMSing so bad. I just want to
rip people's throats out today. Some people are so stupid.
~~~~~~
Pat actually went looking for a job yesterday! I was so excited!!! I
sure hope he gets one. I am tired of being broke all the time. I
feel like all my extra money goes for his cigarettes and beer and
other stuff.
~~~~~~~
Yule is going to be very low key this year. Probably only have Santa
presents this year. Too many bills, plus I had to buy clothes for
this stupid job.
~~~~~~~
I read in the news this morning that the lead guitarist from Pantera
was killed. That is really sad. That man could play some guitar!
~~~~~~~
I was reading Acidman's site the other day (gutrumbles.com). That man
has more problems with his ex-wife than anyone I know. I could never
do to another person what she is doing to him.

I mean, I don't like my ex-husband. But I simply stopped talking to him.
~~~~~~~
Very slow at work today. That is a good thing. The day goes faster
when it is busy, but I go home so exhausted, I can barely keep my eyes
open.
Today we have several minutes between calls. Just a hint: If you need
to call the phone company, call on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Never
call on a Monday.
~~~~~~~
My parents are still trying to sell their motor home if anyone is
interested. They had the couch and benches reupholstered. Mom says
they look great. If anyone is interested, let me know. For those of
you in other parts of the country, I am sure they would have no
problem with meeting you half-way for delivery.
~~~~~~~
It sounds like Anthony might actually graduate this year. The school
has started a new program that lets him do work online. If he gets on
this program, he only needs 4 more credits to graduate.
It's not that he is dumb. It is that he is bored in school. He just
doesn't find any challenge in it and no teacher has challenged him, so
he is going through school as a slacker.
He wanted to join the military, but they (the military) gave him such
a hard time about joining, he gave up on it.
Then he decided he was going to move back to our old town and live
with his buddy. After discussing for a few months, they decided it
would be a stupid move since the buddy will be leaving for college
soon.
So now he has decided to stay at home and finish high school. And
then take welding classes at the Tech College here in town.
I told him as long as he is in school, he can stay with us. But if he
quits or fails, he has to find his own way. He will be 18 in January
and has never even held a part-time job. But I have never really
pressed him to find a job. I always figured being a kid was his job.
He has started looking now, so hopefully, he will get a job soon.
~~~~~~~~~
Why did he have trouble getting in the military?

In the Spring of 2001, Anthony was in a bicycle accident (that's a
whole other story). He had a concussion and smashed his nose
completely.

When he went for his military physical, the doctor told him he had
fluid in his ears and would have to be cleared by our family doctor
before he would be allowed to join.

I took him to our doctor. He said Anthony was fine. He even wrote a
letter to the military saying he was fine.

The military doctor then told him he had to be seen by a a
neurologist. But they would not pay for it. By this time, I was out
of work and had no insurance. I refused to pay for it. I figured the
military has these guys on staff; how hard would it be to have one of
them look at Anthony?

Anyway, this all occurred over a 7 month period. With the Army

So then the Marines said they could get him in...Yeah, right.

They came by and talked to all of us one day. The recruiter told
Anthony to give him a call after we got moved. Anthony called several
times, but the recruiter has never called him back.

So Anthony gave up on the military.

It is almost lucnhtime, so I guess I will send this out to the blog.
I'm sure I will be writing more after lunch.

Church and God

It isn't that I don't believe in God.

I just believe in her in a different form.

And I definitely don't believe in organized religion.

As Julie can tell you, I was really into church when I was in high
school. I didn't really lose my faith in the church until about 8
years ago.

That is when I started listening to my heart and my feelings. And
discovered there were too many hypocrites in the church.

High School

I received my invitation to my 20 year high school reunion the other
day. They have decided on a weekend next July.

Not sure if I will go or not. I went to three different high schools.

Do you ever think about how you would dress if you were in high school
in 2004? I think I would really be into the Goth look. I mean, I
kind of was back in 1985, so I can only imagine what I would be like
these days.

Yeah, I think I would be Goth.

Postings

Yes, I am posting again. Pretty light still, but things will start
picking up again.

I find myself with lots to say, but no energy to say it.

Homelife and work are both very draining.

I am getting very frustrated working my butt off every day while the
other half sits and home and bitches about how much money we owe
everyone.

8 years later, and the only thing that has changed is we have both
gained 50 pounds. Damn! Makes me miss the drugs.

Anyway, Christmas is upon us. Barf.

We went to the company Christmas Party on
Saturday. Yes, it was called a "Christmas Party".

They had a prayer (Christian), then served pork (what about the Jewish
people?). It was the most politically incorrect thing I had ever been
to.

Then all week they have been playing Christmas Hymns for us. Maybe if
I brought in some Solstice music they would play it? I doubt it.

I got in trouble the other day for wearing something "too revealing"
to work. Most people thought I looked very nice. Obviously someone
didn't. So now I am watching what I am wearing every day. I feel
like Shirley Partridge today. I am wearing black and white. Barf.

Did I tell you they make me cover my eyebrow piercing? I work at a
call center where no one sees me, but I have to cover the piercing
because someone might be offended. I have been wearing brightly
colored bandaids. Yesterday I wore neon yellow. Today, I am wearing
stars and stripes.

They tell me I have to cover my tattoos also. I haven't done that
yet. I'll have to find some huge ass bandaids for that.

I am still working as a temp. Maybe someday I will be hired in a
permanent position. I did apply for a job running a Goodyear store
the other day. Maybe I will get it and not have to worry about this
place any longer.

It just amazes me that this company is so "Christian". I have never
worked for a company like this before. And maybe they all aren't that
way, but it sure comes across that way.

I understand that the politically correct thing is getting way out of
hand in this world. But if you can't tell off-color jokes just
because someone 3 desks away might hear, then you shouldn't be talking
religion either.

I know I am going to get a lot of crap about the politically correct
thing, but oh well. I really don't give a rats ass.

Eric, you talked about a present for me....HeeHeeHee...How about a
picture of you in full kilt?

Well, I only have 30 minutes left. Guess I should get some work done.
Leave me lots of comments. I kind of miss those.
