History Repeats Itslef
They say there is nothing new in history. That everything is a circle and just keeps repeating.
This story shows just how true that statement is.
In WWII, thousands of Americans with Asian ancestors were put into internment camps. They were treated as traitors even though they were American citizens and a lot of them had been born in the USA.
After September 11, 2001, we almost saw it all happen again. I heard a lot of talk about putting "Arabs" in a camp where we could keep an eye on them.
How sad.
I have known and been friends with people of all sorts of ethnic backgrounds. And just because I didn't get along so well with some of them, it doesn't mean I would want to see them in an internment camp.
Get a grip, people. The blonde-haired blue-eyed beach boy sitting next to you could be the next terrorist. You can never tell, so quit leaving your lives in fear. And quit blaming your fears on someone that had nothing to do with anything other than trying to live their American life.
