My Marine
Anthony is off and running again today.
We drove him to Minneapolis very early this morning to catch a plane to Palm Springs, CA. This will be his first permanent duty station (PDS).
He will be working with a support squadron there; fueling airplanes. Currently his squadron is in Iraq, but they are due to rotate back to the states in September, so we are fairly confident he will not be going there yet. The do a rotation of 7 months home, 7 months gone. It is only a matter of time before he goes over.
Leaving this time was much harder than any of the other times. I guess because it will be a lot longer before I see him again. We are hoping he will be able to come home for his birthday the end of January.
If any of you are in the Twentynine Palms area, Anthony will have lots of free time. Rumors say that if they don't get off base for their liberty time, the Marines put them to work! He does have a cell phone and hopefully he will have internet access.
We already miss him, but I know this is the best thing for him.
As always, I am still a Very Proud Marine Mom!
