Methodist Church vs. Gay Minister

I am trying very hard not to get angry about this.

But since I am already in a bad mood, it is not working very well.

How can a group of people that say they are "working in the spirit of
Christ" treat another human being with this kind of disrespect.

Don't know what I am talking about? Check it out at

As almost everyone already knows I stopped attending church a very
long time ago. It was this type of attitude that turned me off
church. I have several good friends that are gay, and it would hurt
me immensely to have them treated in this manner.

Someone in that church needs to pull their head out.

I do not pretend to be a saint (far from it), but I refuse to act like
I am better than anyone else.

This woman's only crime is to love another human being.

Is that so wrong????

Attitudes like that are the reason we don't go to church either. It's disgusting.

By the way, glad to see ya posting again!

I agree whole heartedly with you drc. It's terrible. The Church should get moving with the times and realise things are different now days.

I'm a sporatic UMC member still, but I've been thinking about switching churches. I've been doing a lot of research to find the church I'll be happy with. As a christian lesbian, would like to find place to worship that me and my family would feel welcome. I haven't lost my faith in God, but I am losing my faith in the United Methodist church. I am seriously looking at the United Church of Christ right now. I may check out one of the local churches soon.

Take Care,
